Chapter 11

It was late a few nights later and Rick was awoken by his cell phone. He didn’t recognize the number and almost didn’t answer it. The sound continued to pierce the air and he finally pushed the green button.

“Hello?”

Rick could hear loud music on the other side of the phone and he grimaced when he heard her voice.

“Hey baby. I need you.”

“It’s the middle of the night Marla, call me in the morning.”

“No, Rick. I need you to come get me please. I’m drunk and I can’t find my car.”

Rick closed his eyes, but swung his legs out of the bed. He knew that he would have to help her, not wanting her bad decision to become something on his conscious if she did find her car.

“Fine Marla. Where are you?”

The slurring woman gave him the address and name of the bar. Rick told her that he would be there and to stay put.

“Whatever you do Marla, don’t get in your car.”

“I would if I could find the damn thing.”

Rick did not know how the hell she had lost her car, but he was soon wondering about it as he drove the twenty miles to pick her up. She was on the outskirts of the city that had torn them apart so many years before. Rick knew that she wanted something more than just a ride. Nothing had ever been simple with her and he couldn’t imagine that she was just the damsel in distress. She felt more like bait to a mouse trap that would soon be snapping around his neck. Rick could nonetheless not help her, so he did what he knew he must. He helped her.

Marla was standing outside a small bar in a bad part of town and Rick honked his horn to have her climb in. When she did, he noticed the heavy smell of rum on her breath, as well as the long, lean thighs her hiked up skirt showed. His blue eyes looked away, though he felt a familiar tightening in his loins. It had been too long since he had been with Meeka and his cock seemed to have a mind of its own. She smiled at him and he waited for her to get in with a feathery pink top.

“Thank you Rick. I didn’t know where I was going to stay tonight. My purse is in my wallet, in the trunk of my car.”

Rick pulled back from the smell of the liquor. It was strong and she giggled and moved closer.

“You said you needed a ride Marla, not somewhere to stay. Where have you been staying?”

“Mom and dad’s lately, but you know how they are about drinking. I would never hear the end of it and would probably have a reservation made at the closest rehab before I woke up. Come on, what is the big deal? You got that huge house all to yourself.”

“Yea because of you. Fine, just buckle up and try to sober up. You never were a good drunk.
